The Lower School is comprised of kindergarten through grade 5. Strong academics, coupled with a rich variety of resource classes, lay the foundation for student success in school and beyond. The core curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, science, reading, spelling, and social studies. Weekly resource classes include art, music, physical education, Spanish, library, and science enrichment.
Teachers adapt instruction to the specific needs of each class and find many opportunities for interdisciplinary study. Field trips, guest speakers, and special programs are frequent additions to the Lower School program. Curriculum-related field trips utilize the academic, cultural, and natural resources available in our region.
Technology is integrated at every grade level. Students in kindergarten through grade 3 have access to Chromebooks and other types of classroom technology. In grade 4, students begin to use their own laptop devices for class and homework.
