The Lower School is comprised of kindergarten through grade 5. Strong academics, coupled with a rich variety of resource classes, lay the foundation for student success in school and beyond. The core curriculum includes language arts, mathematics, science, reading, spelling, and social studies. Weekly resource classes include art, music, physical education, Spanish, science enrichment, library, and technology.
Teachers adapt instruction to the specific needs of each class and find many opportunities for interdisciplinary study. Field trips, guest speakers, and special programs are frequent additions to the Lower School program. Curriculum-related field trips utilize the academic, cultural, and natural resources available in our region.
Students broaden their academic experience through various scheduled resource classes. These include art, Spanish, music, technology, library, health, and physical education. Students in grades 4 and 5 broaden their technology skills and receive Chromebooks™ for class and homework.
